What are Graphic Spaces wall decals?
Our wall stickers are a very thin, removable, matte film. This vinyl material is manufactured by Oracal. We use the Exhibition Calendared 631 which is used in museums and other non-permanent applications. A variety of colors are available and look expertly hand-painted on any wall or smooth surface.

Are they removable and will they damage my walls?
The vinyl is backed with a low-tack adhesive which allows for easy residue-free removal without any damage to the surface. However, some paint flecking may occur and minor touch-ups may be necessary. These decals are removable, but not repositional, so please plan accordingly. Since we cannot guarantee the condition of every surface, we cannot be responsible for any damage that could occur upon removal. So, please note they are made for one-time use only.

How long will the decals last and are they waterproof?
They will last for many years if taken care of and kept out of extreme heat and direct sunlight. In addition to excellent indoor durability, the product will last up to 3 years outdoors in weather.

Can the wall decals be applied to fresh paint?
No. Many new technology paints on the market now contain a silicone resin additive giving them a very durable, stain repellent quality (perfect for kids’ spaces). As a result, they take much longer to completely cure before the decals will actually stick and stay put. The paint must finish out-gassing before the vinyls are applied, otherwise the decals may bubble and want to release from the wall. Therefore, we are now recommending to our customers that for all freshly painted walls, please wait at least 8-12 weeks before applying decals. Then at that time, start with a small piece to test and see how it’s sticking before applying your entire finished graphic. We've come to the conclusion that it's not really about the kind of paint used, but more about how long it's had to sit and cure... patience is key! All adhesion problems stem from paint that is not completely cured.

Will the decals stick to textured walls or other surfaces?
They will stick to some lightly textured walls, but adhere best to smooth surfaces such sheetrock or drywall. Though we've had success with light orange peel textures, we cannot guarantee adhesion to all surfaces. They will not stick to surfaces like stucco— It is too rough and will poke holes in the vinyl. If you are unsure, we are more than happy to send you a free sample piece to test your walls.

What other surfaces will the decals adhere to?
Vinyl sticks best to smooth surfaces such as drywall, glass, windows, mirrors, sinks, bathtubs, appliances, dishwashers, refrigerators, washers, driers, furniture, floors, countertops, plastic, laptops, computers, desks, paper, card stock, cardboard, dishes, plates, cups, wood, metal, tile, marble, ceramic + more... be creative! All surfaces must be clean, dry and free of grease + residues. Because the vinyl is not guaranteed to stick to every surface, we are more than happy to send you a free test sample pack.

How do I apply the decals and is it easy?
It's easy peasy! Every decal purchase comes with a complete kit. We supply detailed illustrated instructions along with a free squeegee application tool and plastic removal blade. Larger designs will need a friend to help, but generally, one person can do it by themselves. No experience necessary.
