General process for custom projects

General process for custom projects

This offers a typical framework for all custom projects, taking into account the extra communication involved and the importance for precise room specifications. Note: A Custom Design/Artwork charge will be added to the cost of the mural itself:

  1. Submit photos of your space with rough dimensions identifying the specific wall area to be covered. Highlight any features that may affect the mural design, such as windows, doors, corners, utility panels, light switches, or furniture. Share any special requests you want in the mural (i.e. logos, signage) to help estimate time required for design.
  2. After evaluation and upon agreement to proceed with the project, a PayPal invoice for the non-refundable Custom Design/Artwork charge will be issued and upon payment, work can begin.
  3. Rough dimensions and photos will be used to create a preliminary wall diagram which will be emailed. At this stage, precise measurements should be filled-in and verified. Any additional details requested should be provided.
  4. The final schematic drawing will be sent for your review. Final approval is needed before the design process begins. At this point, an exact cost for the mural will be provided.
  5. The artwork and design process will start, with confirmation of all design elements such as specific buildings, vehicles, and personalizations, etc.
  6. A mockup will be provided for your review, with minor adjustments made as needed.
  7. The final mockup will be sent for approval before proceeding to print.
  8. Upon approval, a PayPal invoice for the mural cost will be issued with payment required prior to printing.
  9. Production and printing

wallpaper murals

Mural art is designed to cover your wall completely. Our murals are printed on water-activated wallpaper (no glue necessary) to simplify installation. The mural wallcoverings are composed of overlapping panels, each around 24" wide. All artwork is customized to fit your space and wallpaper murals should be ordered according to exact wall dimensions.

Decals are cut out shapes of artwork. They are "peel-and-stick" application. Decals are printed on a reusable adhesive fabric for use on smooth surfaces only. Decals won't cover your entire wall, leaving your paint color as the background to your scene.

Both products are eco-friendly, odorless, non-toxic and contain no phthalates, no solvents and no pvc.

While not absolutely necessary, it is generally recommended before installing wallpaper. It improves adhesion, prevents bubbling and makes future removal easier. If you have new bare drywall, then priming is necessary to seal the porous surface. If your walls are already painted, use good judgement. If your walls are in nice shape and clean and light colored, then you are fine. If your walls are a medium to dark color, have stains, patches, uneven and/or old, then prime for sure. You'll be happier having a clean base to apply the artwork.

We recommend 'Roman Pro-977 Ultra Prime' as a great wallpaper primer for your project.

While we recommend wallpaper for smooth walls, a slight texture can be acceptable. The water-activated paste serves as adhesive, filling in the textured areas.

For large projects, yes. We do recommend hiring a professional wallpaper installer. They will have experience in double-cutting the seams, wrapping corners and trimming.

No, sorry we do not recommend our decals for textured walls and cannot guarantee adhesion. They are intended for smooth surfaces only.

No, please wait at least 4 weeks after painting before decal application. Paint must be completely cured for successful adhesion.

We've personally tested and have had great adhesion results with the Benjamin Moore "BEN" line of interior paint in eggshell.
